Going To Be Slow

I am going to be traveling this week for work and probably won't have much time to do any posts. I should be back on Friday, just in time to start the weekend and not do any posts. If I have any time, I will do what I can. Keep checking back because it should be an interesting week for me. I'll somehow figure out a way to write about it.

In the meantime, check out Craig at the National Exam.

A note to let you know that I have just started reading blogs and signed up for a blog just to be able to post comments. I am impressed at some of the political blogs on the internet and this one seems to have some decent discussion without a lot of partisan, baseless name calling. This is impressive. You make some good points as well and appear not to feel the need to argue with people who comment, this I appreciate.
The glimpses of humor although not pervasive are also appreciated.

Looking over your old discussions and looking forward to more.

The site you referenced has not updated in over a month but you have some other interesting links.

I have now posted, and the reason I have been gone is also there. Thank you MJ for the kind reference. Take care my friend and don't work too hard. Looking forward to the bus in a few weeks, I need a weekend like that.

MJ,

If you get a moment, I'd really like to see your thoughts on the farmer going crazy in Crawford. Do you think people are fed up with anti-war protests? Do you see protests becoming dangerous? I'm beginning to see a pattern here and it's not comforting. Just like to hear your thoughts.

Showing a little bit of a sense of humor eh?

Have fun working.

It hard to maintain one of these blogs isn't it?

The news is so mind boggling lately I have decided to quit looking at it for a few days.

I'll check back.

Businessman, thanks for the kind words. Sometimes we do get partisan in here; it's hard to do politics without partisanship. We do try to keep it civil, however. You are welcome here any time. I encourage the participation.

Craig, thanks big guy. I'm ready for a break also.

Smink, to be honest I haven't heard much about the farmer. I don't agree with anti-war protesters. I think if people oppose the war in Iraq then the last thing they should do is follow the anti-war movement of the 60s and early 70s. There are ways to protest a war without slapping people in the face; such as winning elections. I think war protests only prolong wars. At least in the case of Vietnam I think there is strong evidence of such. I absolutely see it becoming dangerous, and in some ways it already has. Now do I think Bush has made some mistakes in this war? Oh yeah. But I also think that the only person that can make it work is Bush. It's one of those lose/lose situations, or maybe it's a win/win; either way something's happening and I'm not sure what it is. Thanks for reading Smink. I'm hoping to finish up my work on Thursday and return back.

Alice, yeah it's proven to be a busy month for me and Sept. only looks much more so. I wish I could take all the vacations that you do :) Thanks for reading.

GTL and James, thanks to both for reading. I have come across so much stuff this week that I'm not sure what to do next. This weekend I will try to do a post, or at least some sort of update. Plus, I owe everyone here a few visits as well.

Sorry MJ, to use your blog as a forum, instead of just commenting on your post. I wanted to address Smink's question about the farmer running over all the crosses in Crawford...I think that guy was on a mission against the anti-war protestors and rode his tractor from Waco to do something about it. However, I think that many of the people in Crawford are just annoyed by all the people there. I mean, the population has doubled because of Camp Casey. So I think that many people are sort of ambivalent to the whole thing, feeling a little detached, but they are annoyed about their town being invaded. And many actions towards the protestors aren't necessarily actions against the anti-war protest, but against the invasion of their town.

MJ, I meant to comment the other day about Bill O'Reilly and I think he is a total freak for calling Sheehan's actions bordering on treason. I mean, that is pathetic. I have a lot of pity for Mrs. Sheehan, however not much respect. There is a dignified way to do things, and this isn't it. But I certainly don't think she is a traitor. She is an American exercising her right to the freedom of expression. And from the depths of my heart, I say, God Bless her.
