NCAA To Ease Restrictions on Athletes

Thank God! This is long overdue.

The N.C.A.A. said it planned to ease restrictions on educational expenses for current student-athletes and set aside $10 million to reimburse former athletes as part of a tentative class-action lawsuit settlement.
In part because college sports is one of the highest forms of exploitation and in part because college athletes are subjected to four years of unemployment in hopes to make it pro, which most don't. In acknowledging their exploitation the NCAA has also agreed to provide year round health insurance to athletes. College sports is finally entering the 21st century.

I thought athletes were covered through their college or university health insurance programs, so I'll have to read up on this one.
