BushCo Smarter Than His Critics?

This is where I'm going to differ a great deal with ThinkProgress.org and other liberal blogs that always want to scrutinize the president and really anyone who may disagree with them. On a number of occasions President Bush and the White House, or at least those who speak for the president, have let it slip that America has the best health care in the world. Liberal blogs are all over that statement every time it intentionally falls from the lips of the Bush administration. However, and it's a big however too, Bush & Co. aren't exactly fibbing when they say such.

It's much more accurate to state America does have the best health care in the world just not the best health care system. See the difference? Health care is the care you get when you can afford it. The health care system is what delivers those to the care. We don't have the best health care system in the world, and Bush and the neocons know that, which is why they always say "best health care," and never talk about the system that administers the care.

If you're one of the fortunate ones to have insurance, chances are you do have access to the best health care and health care system in the world. But for nearly 50 million people, both are out of reach. And for those that do have some form of health insurance bridging them access to the system, costs are rising at uncontrollable rates making the care part very hard to come by.

Is it possible that Bush is out smarting his critics? I say take him to task on the health care part because unless there's a system the care isn't going to stick around much longer.

The system that delivers the health care is overrun with non-citizens.

The doctors overcharge the insurance companies. (does an aspirin really cost $90?)

Frivolous lawsuits? Untold billions.

Trial lawyers and bureaucratic red tape? Problematic for new drugs.

Oh, and Bush has always been, and still continues to be, smarter than his critics.
