Poll: Bush Bigger Burden to McCain Than Wright to Obama

Finally some numbers on how the Republican nominee has yet to get drilled by the media establishment for his ties to very unpopular people. So far all we've heard about is Obama and his ties to terrorists, liberals and wacko preachers. But nothing so far about McCain's ties to the biggest terrorist supporters in the world (the Saudis) or his ties to one of the most unpopular people to ever grace the American public, George W. Bush.

  • 43 percent of registered voters say they have major concerns that McCain is too closely aligned with the current administration.
  • 36 percent have major concerns that Clinton seems to change her position on some issues (like driver’s licenses for illegal immigrants and the North American Free Trade Agreement, which her husband signed but which she now opposes)
  • 34 percent say they’re bothered by Obama’s “bitter” remarks
  • 32 percent have a major problem with the Illinois senator’s past associations with Wright and the 1960s radical William Ayers
  • 27 percent have serious concerns that Bill Clinton would have too much influence on U.S. policy decisions if his wife is elected
No question those who watch the Fantasy News Channel (FNC) and listen to Rush Limbaugh all day long will be very surprised to learn that people are more concerned with John McCain's ties to Bush than Obama's ties to his preacher. I'm sure this is part of some hysteria and has nothing to do with the last 8 years of complete failures by Bush and the GOP.
