Lame Duck

So apparently after my friend Craig text messaged me his love for Bush tonight, I realized that it was SOTUS time. Never has such an unpopular president stood before a joint session of Congress and grasped at thin air to try and prove his legitimacy. The only thing positive about the whole thing is that this will be Bush's last State of the Union, and thank God for that.

One big highlight from the speech is Bush showing his complete incompetency for Republican pork barrel spending from the last seven years while trying to tell the Dems, who have cut pork spending by 25% in less than one year, that he will veto any spending bill that "doesn't cut the number and cost of congressional pet projects in half."

Here's my favorite tough talk Bush quote of the evening. "Referring to the executive order he will issue, Bush said, 'If these items are truly worth funding, the Congress should debate them in the open and hold a public vote.'" Please! For seven straight years not one single spending bill or one single pork project was ever debated in open. Pork spending increased five-fold with the Republican controlled congress and not one single veto, or even the mere threat of a veto by his majesty. Two Republican congressmen are sitting in prison tonight because of accepting bribes for pork projects. Two more Republican congressmen are under federal investigation in relation to the bribes for pork and not once-- not one single time-- did Bush ever call out Republican spending. This goes beyond incompetency bordering delusional psychopathic dementia.

*Update:

My buddy Craig has clarified in the comments section that he doesn't "love Bush." He was only inspired by his speech. I stand corrected and can totally understand not wanting people to think I love Bush either, in a manly totally heterosexually sort of way of course. I regret the error.

First, let me correct the first sentence by saying my exact words were, "Oh snap, Bush is laying down the smack". I don't love Bush, in fact there are several items, such as spending, that I actually despise. That being said, The SOTUS was inspiring, but like most, are rarely lived up to. If this one is, I would be excited. He actually sounded like a Conservative. If your information is correct, then we need Romney in as Pres to solidify the decreasing budgetary spending.

Btw, nice to see you back up, I was getting worried you were going soft.

As unpopular as Bush is, one would have to love him in order to actually sit and watch his speech. The 70% of Americans who disapprove of his job didn't bother to tune in, trust me ;)

Romney doesn't bother me that much. But him being a conservative, or a Republican is comical. He's more liberal than me. His mormonism bothers me more than anything. I just couldn't vote for anyone who believes that Jesus is going to return to Jackson County, Missouri to setup his new kingdom. I couldn't imagine what Fox News and Rush Limbaugh would be saying if Hillary or Obama believed such. Heck, Obama's grandpa was muslim and he catches flack over that. Romney's grandpa was born in Mexico and had multiple wives and I've yet to see Fox or Rush do a news alert about that.

Well, I'm off...thanks for reading.
