Needed A Break

I got to admit, I paid very little attention to politics this weekend. I just couldn't get motivated. I didn't even tune in to see who won until today. I'm not sure if it's the weather, or the fact that I already know who I'm voting for so I don't care. Honestly, I've always needed a break from politics and this was one of those weekends.

Hillary pulled off another nice win in Nevada and McCain finally got a little love in South Carolina. As for delegate totals, Obama has a two delegate lead over Hillary and Romney has a 28 delegate lead over McCain. There's still a lot of time left and neither side really has a true favorite just yet.

I think McCain's win in South Carolina is probably the least impressive win of the weekend. He got over 100,000 fewer votes this year than he did in 2000. In contrast, his vote total from 2000 would have given him over 50% this year. McCain's support amongst Republicans isn't really that great and this SC win leaves me unimpressed about him or about a Republican candidate entirely.

One thing I did come across that leaves me totally shocked about the weekend, are the exit poll numbers from South Carolina showing a very "progressive" Republican electorate.

Less surprising is God's choice, Huckabee, getting the fringe vote, but look at the totals. Could it possibly be that the right wing is over hyping the abortion issue and that mainstream America is actually relatively pro-choice? This makes me wonder if Fox News or Rush Limbaugh ever look at poll numbers. Or do they look at polling and then cherry pick? Interesting.

It's all tiring, the bitch fight in the dems section is entertaining but embarrassing.

Is there such as a "Demotarian" because I 'm thinking of witching parties.

That's good! I think that sums me up as well. Just when I think the Dems are on to some actual "change" they turn around and make fools out of everyone. One thing is certain, though. Any one can do a better job as president than the idiot we have now.
