This is just too good to let go. 10 newspapers in Iowa are running a full page ad in support of a single payer health care system. And what are they using as an example of the benefits of such a system? Big Dick Cheney and the socialist Congressional welfare system that every member of Congress and the president and vice president enjoy. That's right, Republicans will be in an uproar about this. How dare Cheney's private health concerns be used in such a way as to advocate for universal health care. I can see Limbaugh and Hannity fuming over such a liberal notion as a government provided health system. Yet those they vote for and gleefully endorse are the biggest beneficiaries of such a system.
It's a good thing that Cheney benefits from such a socialist system, it's just amazing that Republicans want to deny the same system to everyone else. If it's good enough for Congress, it's good enough for the least among us.
Here's a post I wrote some time ago about the benefits/shortcomings of the Republican welfare system.
