Farewell to Some Bloggers

Two of my favorite fellow bloggers have called it quits. Mikey Phillips and Taylor both signed off last week in order to concentrate on more important things. Both had a very sly, humorist approach to their writings that will be sadly missed. I think this might by Mikey's second or third time quitting, and I hope just like the last attempts this one too will fail and Mikey will be right back at it. Though I'm not sure if Mikey ever read my site, I know Taylor did and he brought a Republican lean to this blog that was greatly needed and encouraged. Farewell to both of you.

During the last few days I have been very busy with work, and since the departure of two blogs that I read routinely have ceased, I have had to contemplate mine. When I first started this blog it was to be an outlet. Mainly just an outlet of political commentary and analysis. I have never been interested in any online journal of sorts, so this blog is primarily a way to publish some of my views. Soon there will come a time when I will have to follow Mikey and Taylor and quit. As always, it has a lot to do with the time it takes to keep the site going, but there is so much more involved in it than that.

My job requires a lot of tight lip work. It is imperative with this blog that I honor it as such. So I am restrained with what I can write. Maybe it's the restraint that a writer struggles with that can cause the best of intentions. I do, however, foresee a time when I will have to discontinue the publication of this blog.

Without Mikey and Taylor, what else is there?

I can see when one has a type specific journal how it might be hard to find the time and the inertia to keep it going and harder still if there is a degree of constraint involved.

I'll read you until you dissipate.

The politically correct question would have been: Is that your butt?

Considering where we started, I have come to enjoy both our debates as well as our agreements. I would be very sad the idea I clicked your blog only to find a Vacant sign posted where Political Notio used to be.

So far the only blog that's disappeared that I really liked was "The World and Everything In It." If Moxiegrrrl, ever quits I'd be depressed too.

As far as the whole work/blog thing, it is tough. My life has recently turned upside down and it's taken an almost religious dedication to keep fresh content on the site. At the end of the day, this is just a hobby and you have to do what you feel is right for your life and those whom are important in it.

If for some reason you and I couldn't keep our sites afloat amongst all our distractions, i.e. work, family, etc. lol, I know that I could always pick up a phone or hop in the car and try and get you to see the light. On the other hand, I like to keep our visits to what is important, beer.

i hear ya man. every week, i say i'm going to quit and then somebody emails me, giving me goose bumps. i hate to see the day you quit, because it's fun reading your work. i can't say i'm a fan of all your views, but who is? we all have our own unique ways. but's the debate and our open mindness. more than anybody, your writing has changed my views on a lot of topics. for one, i think you write extremely well. and two, your arguments or debates are normally backed up by facts rather than emotion. guess, that's why i've become such a fan... you use facts.

Hymer, you can't quit. You work too hard to quit.

Ashley, I have no clue. I was probably just strolling through blogland one day and saw your site. Thanks for the visit.

Mikey, I know I don't always leave comments on your site, but I do, or did, read it nearly every day. When you get the time, please start blogging again.

Alice, your site has become a regular for me too. I like how you mix politics with every day happenings. You are very down to earth. Sorry, is that your butt? (but from the looks of the pic, ass is much more appropriate).

Hymer, I'm thinking we are going to need a pic of you in a thong now. Just to see if you can stack up against Alice.

Joseph, oh Joseph. I understand the frustration my man. I'm going to check out your new site today. Hang in there.

Mark, you are totally correct about this being a hobby. Even when I do quit this site, I'm going to wish I hadn't. But like you said, work must come first. Your blog is one of the best on the entire Internet. I hope everything that has been turned upside down will work out for you. I would really hate to see you go too.

Sminky, you and I have come a long way. I think CVG calls it manlove. But she's the one with manlove :) I will always respect you dude. Whenever you get down south let me know.

Craig, I know you're not scared to drive anywhere at any time.

James, I'm not quitting yet, but I would bet that I probably only have a couple months left in me, maybe less. Thanks for the kind words. Though when I do quit posting, I will continue to read, and yours will for sure be one of them.
