Reform the Reform

Why does George Bush want to reform everything?

This post is going to be a sort of open thread because I'm curious to know what about the UN needs reformed.

Sure I agree that the UN has its major malfunctions, but so does the American Congress. So, again, what is it that must be reformed at the UN?

Bush and the neocons want to reform everything. Bush wants Bolton at the UN because he wants the current UN dismantled or replaced by something that will follow neocon thinking. My idea is that if something doesn't click with Bush's way of thinking then it must be wrong and reformed-- anything with any form of dissent towards Bush should be reformed. Most Republicans think the UN is a liberal think tank. Bush sees it as a liberal bureaucracy that impedes upon American power, namely Bush American power.

Social Security is another pet peeve of Bush. He sees it as a liberal invention therefore it must be dismantled. Judges who don't rule the way Bush thinks they should are obstructionist, liberal and immoral and must be replaced by judges with values and morals, but most of all with a big fat R next to their name.

Bush wanted to reform Senate procedural rules in order to get his nominees through the Senate. Again, the rules didn't allow for Bush's way, so let's do away with them and make it to our liking. Does anyone else see a pattern here?

Well, I'm curious to know what should be reformed at the UN? I agree some things need to change, but this macho tough talk from the neocons must be stopped.
